With reference to a lr. of the 30th Decr.1842 stating tht the adjt.genl. of the H.M.Forces When with Hd.Qr.in the Upper Provinces shall be entitled to the Batta of his rank whether belonging to a regt. on the Indian Estabt. or on half pay & requests to know whether the same rule is applicable to be Major Genl. of H.M.forces in India.
