In reply to letter No 231 of the 18th Ultimo submits that the C.in C. considers the suggestions of Mr. R.N.C Hamilton, Resident at Indore , for supplying and ensuring payment for carriage hired for corps in the course of Relief or ordinary march to be generally very judicious & capable of being carried out by Regiment al Quarter masters to whom it will be necessary to make advances for the purpose before the commencement of a march the mount to be adjusted after the march.
