In reply to the 1st para of no. 79 dated 13th july last forwards despatch from the mily. board no. 1484 of 13th sept. stating that the board have no knowledge of the practice said to have formerly obtained of instituting enquires as to the competeney of officers for the commissiariat prior to admission into that department.
