Intimating that under orders from the Marine Department experinced offices were deputed to examine the measures adopted for the security of connecte on Board the Royal saxon, from their report it appears that the baricades stated by Lt. Hewitt H Ms. 18th foot to be weak and recovable are in fact composed of stout stanchions secured at the head and foot with shike nails and battens, that the prison had been built with reference to the probability of violence being exhibited and that every precaution has been taken for the accommodation of the guard.
