Intimating in reply to letter no 256 dt. 25 Octr. last tht with reference to a former decision of Govt. in a similar case Bt Majors, coventry and comunication are entitled to the staff salaries of their appointments as acts in the stud dept. while proceeding to join their regts . on field service and returning there from to join their applintments butno for the period of their absence during which those officers exercised the command of their respective regts and were on receipt of command allowance.
