In reply to his despatch No.852 of the 23rd Decr.1848.With reference to lr. of the 13th jany. last, states that under view of the case taken by the govr. genl. Lieut.Mackenzie 26th Nat.Infantry appears entitled to the additoinal half batta of his rank as sttions staff at Landour from the date specified.
