In continuation of No 137 dated 14th December 1848 transmits copy of a despatch from the Secy to Government of Bombay NO 11 dated 3rd january 1849 and of the reply there to intimating tht the commander in chief has been requested to confer the rank of Brigadier General on Brigr the Honble A Dundas and that while holding tha rank .
