Submit for orders, copy despatch from the Superintending Engineer Punjab circle with a Bill by Major Western, in charge of Sutlege Timber Agency for the amount fo gratuity granted on the saving effected in the rate of timber supplied by the sutledge Timber Agency during the years ending 30th April 1849/50/51. State that in the above Bill certain items of Percentage are charged for the collection of Timbers Vizt. for Mr. Mines, Rs. 1256-14-9- Assistant Overseer Serjeant Meravia, Rs. 251-5- & Major Western Rs. 702-14-9, making a total of Rs. 2211-2-5, & that the gratuity charged for Mr. Mines was Authorized in letter of the 4 September 1846, but htere is no definite order allouring compensation to the other officers on when and the same percentage is charged.
