States that the commander in chief underpresent circumstances conceives it would be capedient of defer the consideration of the question submitted fin a lr. of the 24th ult. in respect to reducing the allowances now enjoyed by the regular cavalry at lahore that H.C. is of opimion however that the pay and allowproposed by the M. A. G. would have the effect oif palcing the men of the Irregualr cavy. on a footing of equlality in that respect with other troops at lahor.
