With refrence to his letter no 2949 of the 9th september last, reporting the draft of clothing regualations for the 3 Presidencies states that the clothing board at Madras have brought ot notice, that in the table of Compensation for causal articles, of clothing for that Pesidency, contained int he porposed, code are inserted rates of Compensation rates of of Helmets, and has proposed as in use with the Cavalry, that the rates, of Compensation, in lieu of Chakas, and oil skin sovers for the Lt. Cay. and Body guard specified within may be substituted for them recommends their introduction into the code under preparation and reports, that the madras Govt.
