In continuation of hisletter No 1583 of the 10th instant transmits for consideration a petition from the inhabitants of Meerut, submitting an accout of the depredations and ravages committed in the village of Meerut, on the 16th ultimo, by the sepoys of the Calcuta militia attributing the whole affiar to the orders of Captain Raleigh the Comdt. of the corps who expressly desired his men to beat the inhabitant and village offering observation on Captain R has urged .
