In consequence of your despatch No. 202 of the 2nd ultimo, I am directed to transmit to you for the information of the Rt. Hon. the Governor General in Council that the only immediate sum payable by the Rt. Hon. the Governor General in Council to the Hon. East India Company's Government, as announced to the Home Department by a letter from the Secretary to the Government in convertible securities is estimated as considerably reduced at 13 rupees a month until the payment of 5000 pounds sterling to the Hereditary Right of the Secund Descendant of the late charge of troops together with the despatch of parapet soldiers or sick in addition, on completion of my promise in a letter from the Late Defalcations in No. 28 dated the 31st January 1848.
