In reply to your Military Secretary's letter to me of 30th ultimo I have to inform you that his Excellency the Governor General in Council has been pleased to concur with the Commander in Chief in opinion that the brevet conferred on Captain Cresswell for service in the Burmese War should entitle him to the estimated allowance according to the rules which confer that allowance for Desert in every case whether such service shall hereafter be at the same time sent home with that case to Bombay & with that of several corresponding cases together
