On the departure from Rangoon on Medical Certificate of Major Miller, of the Madras Artillery, the Command of the Artillery in the Pegu Division devolved on Captain Kinloch, of that Corps by virtue of seniority. Under the rule contained in G.O. G. 6th May 1855, No. 60, an Officer under the rank of Regimental Field Officer is not entitled to the allowance of Rs. 350 per mensem attached to commanding a Division of Artillery. The Command, however, which devolved on Captain Kinloch, consists of more than an entire Battalion, stationed among the several stations named in the margin.
