Letter from the President and Council of Fort St. George, intimating the despatch of the William Pitt, requesting that a packet containing despatches for the Court of Directors under the care of Mr. Benfield may be sent to England by the first sea conveyance from Bengal and that the Manship on her voyage to Europe may be ordered to touch at Fort St. George in order to take Lieut.-General Lang and his family on board, and transmitting six letter packets received from Bombay.
