Steps taken in the Bombay Presidency to relieve the Principals of Government colleges of their routine duties. Sanction to the grant of rent-free quarters to certain educational officers in Assam subject to the condition that the quarters in question are provided in close proximity to the institutions concerned. Proposal to appoint one of the Indian Educational Service Professors of the Cotton College, Gauhati, as Vice-Principal of the college, and to entrust him with the control of the accounts of the college, etc., in addition to his professorial duties. Postponement of the consideration of the question of granting the Vice-Principal rent-free quarters in view of additional duties devolving on him.
