Draft of a letter to the President and Council of Fort St. George, intimating that their letter and enclosures relating to quit-rent and scavenger's duty have been forwarded to the Judges of the Supreme Court for their opinion, stating that the official information of the Board having laid an embargo on the exportation of all grain from Bengal was not communicated to them owing to an oversight, repeating their request for ordering back to Bengal the Bengal troops serving in the Carnatic, and acquainting them that some bills of exchange have already been sent and some more will be sent to the Chief and Council at Masulipatam for paying off such of the arrears due to the Bengal troops as will enable them to march back.
