Letter from the President and Council of Fort St George, offering their congratulcations on the safe arrival of Mr. Stables in Bengal, complying with the Board's requests for the grant of rewards to the serangs of the country craft employed in conveying rice to their Presidency, enclosing a part of their proceedings respecting the storage of provisions for the public consumption as well as an indent of the grain and stores required for their Presidency from Bengal, acquainting the Board that they have been refused payment of the bills of exchange drawn in their favour, requesting them to take measures for securing the payment of their bill in ready money, and forwarding copies of their Assay Master's reports of gold sent to them by the Resolution and Active, together with his letters to them on the subject
