Translation of a Chop, dated the 44th year of the Emperor Kienlung, the 22nd day of the seventh moon, or the 9th September, 1781, from the Toongtoo, Foo-yuen and Hoppo, addressed to the Supercargoes of the different European nations intimating that Capt. McClary's conduct has been overlooked, and that the Emperor of China will not permit acts of hostility between rival nations within his dominions.
