Letter from Mr. William Hamilton, Resident at Ingram, reporting that a French privateer has captured the Devonshe Ghrub and several Paria (net) vessels in Goringa Roads; and intimating that, owing to the appearance of the enemy’s cruisers on the coast, native travlers have refused to sail to Bengal, in order to carry supplies from thence to Madras, unless convoyed by ships of war.
