The Pondicherry Municipal Decree (Amendment) Bill, 1968-For assent. Representations from the Presidents and Members of the Municipal Commissions of Olagarai and Mudaliarpet Communes for continuance of Municipal Commissions in Pondicherry for another year. Extension of the term of Municipal Commissions for a further period of six months by the Administrator of the Union territory of Pondicherry. Issue of a directive, S.O. 2071, dated 11-6-1968, by the President for holding elections to Municipal Councils on or before 24-10-1968 (Directive was subsequent rescinded). Promulgation of an Ordinance (No. 11 of 1968) for extension of the term of Municipal Commissions for a period not extending eight months instead of six months (Ordinance was allowed to lapse as election were held within stipulated period, i.e. on 16-12-1968
