Independence Day. (1) Grant of paid holiday on account of- on 15-801950, as additional paid holiday for Workshops at Parel, Matunga, Jhansi on G.I.P., & E.I. Rly. Press as a special case for 1950. (2) General instructions to Rly Administrations that the 26th Jany., 15th Aug. & 2nd Oct of each years should be included in the paid holidays for workshops staff & the remaining 12 being fixed in consultation with the staff. (3) staff Councils of the Parel, Matunga & Jhansi workshops of the G.I.P. Rly. declined to make any recommendations the G.M. approved the holidays fixed by his C.M.E. and his action confirmed by the Board. (4) The Ministry of Labour addressed suggesting that in issuing instructions to the Employees Associations at appropriate time regarding holiday to be observed on 26th January, 15th August, 2nd October the term additional paid holiday may be suitably amended to avoid embarrassment on the Railway side
