Strike by 13 Signalmen of Vizagapatnam port from 16.7.1956 to 19.9.1956. 1. Question whether it would be in order to give the workmen on strike an assurance of reconsideration of a matter which had been considered and rejected previously and to persuade them to resume work on the strength of that assurance. Decision that this was a question primarily to each case on its merits. 2. Question whether an adjudication could be asked for on an economic demand particularly for increase of pay scales -Decision that the ordering of adjudication in a dispute is solely within the discretion of the Government. 3. Question whether Railway Establishments would be within their rights in terminating the services of workmen who go on strikes which are not illegal, but refuse to resume work even after they have been warned by the Administration that their services work by a specified date -Decision that there was no objection to such action being taken wherever the Railway Administration considered it expedient to do so
