Application of factories Act, to stores Department on Railway. Decision that the Factories applies only to those persons who are employed in any manufacturing process or the subject of manufacturing process or in any other kind of work incidental to or connected with the manufacturing process and that the Act would not cover all persons employed in a Department. Therefore for purposes of registration of the Department, segregation of non-manufacturing activities was not really necessary. Railway were advised of the above legal position for dealing with such cases
