Changes to the recruitment guidelines for mechanical engineers in the Indian Railway Service Decision: in accordance with Indian Railway Service of Mech. Engineers Recruitment Rule 1962, clauses (c) and (d) in rule 4 will be relettered as clauses (d) and (e), respectively; in addition, the following clause will be inserted before clause (d) as it is relettered, specifically: (e) To the extent determined periodically in consultation with the Commission, by appointing Assistant Mechanical Engineers hired through the Commission, initially as temporary officers; iii) the following note will be appended at the end, which reads as follows: Note: If the 33/1/3 percent quota reserved for clause II officers for promotion to class I is not fully utilised, the remaining vacancies will be filled
