Decision that special class apprentices should be given an oral test at the end of each training during the 5th and 6th years of training and on completion at the end of the 6th year they should be given a written test to be conducted jointly by the C.M.E. and the C.O.P.S. of the Railway concerned. The apprentices should get 50% marks in this test. Those who do not do so will be liable to have their training extended. The Northern Railway informed following a reference that the above ruling need be applied only in respect of 1948 group if it had not been the practice on that Railway to have a written test previously
