Eastern Railway-Question whether in the event of an L.G.S. officer who is officiating in the Senior scale and whose substantive pay on 1.1.47 (the date from which he wants to elect) in the L.G.S. was Rs. 410/- and is now Rs. 620/- and whose fixation of pay will come to Rs. 425/- on 1.1.47, such an officer would be required to appear for the Efficiency Bar Test at stage Rs. 500/- in the prescribed scale. Decision that in such cases the efficiency bar should operate at the first increment following due after the date of option allowed in Board's letter E(S)52CPC/160 dated 23.5.53
