Southern Railway: Request for reimbursement for food relationships overdrawn by employees at reduced rates over the set amount. It was decided that overdrawing food rations would amount to an overpayment of dearness allowance and that, therefore, an adjustment under Section 7(2) of the payment of Wages Act from out of the salary or wages on account of such an overpayment would not be illegal if part of the dearness allowance was paid to an employee in the form of concessions in prices of food grains purchased from the railway ration shops. Later on, the decision mentioned above was overturned
