Compulsory Deposit Scheme -Recovery from salary of employees whose annual income is Rs 1500 or more but less than the limit for income tax. Instructions were issued by the Ministry of Finance. Govt. of India's decision that the compulsory deposits of persons whose deposit did not exceed Rs 150, persons of 70 years of age and above: nominees/Legal heir of deceased depositors and foreign nationals leaving India without intention to return, should be repaid to them on demand. Railways were advised accordingly
