Western Railway. Question for examination is whether Washing Allowance is termed as wages for purposes of payment of compensation under the Workmen's Compensation Act. The Ministry of law advised that washing allowance would not be covered by the definition of the term wages under Section 2(1) (m) of the Workmen's Compensation Act 1923. All Railway were accordingly advised that washing allowance should not be taken into account for purpose of payment of compensation under the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923
