Claims, contractors, and payments are made in relation to unpaid sums owed to Pakistan Railways. By letter No. 52-PTN-130/9 dated October 29, 1958, instructions were given to the general manager of the Northern Railway with copies forwarded to the general manager of the Eastern Railway. The instructions stated that payment of pre-partition claims that had been jointly verified with the NW Railway in Pakistan should not be delayed pending acceptance of the amount that would be paid to the contractors and debitable against the NW Railway in Pakistan after payment of the amount. Prior to the debit being recorded in the monetary accounts, Pakistan should be obtained through a monthly statement of payments that is sent to the N.W. Rly. for acceptance and return
