Requesting him to address Major Becher, Commanding 8th Irregular Cavalry to the effect stated within & to express the hope of Govt. that he will not consider himself bound by the peculiar position of his Regiment to accompany it at all hazards, but that he will consider himself at liberty to be guided by Medical Advices as he would be under ordinary circumstances.
