In reply to Military Department despatch No 799, of 29th ultimo, regarding a reduction of the charge of powder for the percussion fusil in use in the Bombay army from 4 to 3/1.2 drachms states that , with reference to G.O No 561 of 1851 fixing the proper charge for percussion arms in use with the arms of the three presidencies the commander in chief does not think it advisable to make any change.
