With reference to Financial Office Memorandum No. 3664, dated 23rd December last, forwards copy of a Despatch from the Secretary of State, sanctioning that the slary of Dr. Oldham, Superintendent of the Geological Survey of India, be raised from Rupees 1,250 to Rupees 1,500 a month, and observing that there is no reason why the permanent salary of the appointment should be subject to further augmentation by annual increases of Rupees 50 to a maximum limit of Rupees 2,000 per mensem.
