The following notification is republished from the Fort St. Gazette of the 30th Ultimo the Honble Mr. Daniel Elitt, having tendered his resignation of his seat in the Legislative Council of India, from the 1st May next, the Right Honble the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr.Henry Forbes to be from the aforesaid sate, the member of the legislative Council of India for the Madras Presidency, according to the provisions of Clause XXII of Act 16 and 17, Victoria, Cap 95.
