From Secretary - With reference to letter dated 7th May last forwards a Commissioner from the Superintendent of Ohcher & explains that Dr. Shircose has been enable to enter upon his duties as assist to the Magistrate of Cachar, overing to his having been directed by the # Sylhet Lieut. Infantry Battation to join the Head Quater of the corps at Chera Poonjee to retrive Dr. Dillon who has obtained leave of absence for 6 weeks , unless therefore the service of the officer in Medical charge at cachar were placed absolutely at the disposal of the Civil authorities the arrangement for employment him on Civil Duties could not be carried out & to that end desires that the services of Dr. Shirence to be employed as Civil Surgeon of Cachar be placed at the disposal of the Bengal Government.
