From Mrs. Sarah McLanghlin - States that she is the widow of the Late Hospital Steward Mr. Langhlin dated the 2nd European Bengal Fusiliers who died at Rangoon in 1855 - In January 1857 she left Cawnpore for the Punjab for the benefit of her health, leaving behind a portion of her property with Mr. Tooney of the Medical Department & with the late Reverend Rooney & that by the disturbances that occurred there in 1857 she lost all her properties which the left at Cawnpore - That she addressed Mr. Thoraton the Collector of Cawnpore & Mr. Longdon, Deputy Commissioner at Agra praying for compensation for the loses she sustained & submitted along with it a list of the property she lost with such Certificates as she could yet but will these were without avail under the circumsatnces as detailed in the petition & its accompaintsprays the Governor General would award her a donation etc.
