From Civil Auditor - Forwards a letter from Captain Man, Resident councillor, Malacca, explanatory of the delay which took place in joining his appointment in the straits, which is considered satisfactory but as under the Rules Captain Man can only be allowed 3 months togoin his appointment a period he has excceded it remains for Government to determine whether the Rules shall be enforced or relaxed for the reasons urged by that Officers.
