To Secretary Government of Bengal - With reference to his letter to the Director General Post Office expressing the Concurrnce of the Lt. Governor in the views of that officer regarding the Dist. Post in Bengal requests His Henor will take into consideration the correspondence which passed between the Government of India and Bengal in 1851 and 1852 and gives his opinion generally on the subject therein referred to. States the views of the G. G. in C. on the Governor of taking the Dist. Post into the Post Office Department and depaying the whole cost of the Dist. Rommors from the # suggested in the 10th 13th Para of the Director General Report for the inprovement of the present system of Dist. Dacoks and its extension to all non regulation dist. and requests that instruction may be given tothe magistrate in all such Dist. in accordance with these suggestions.
