To Secretary - The proposal for remunerating the Administrator General by a fixed salary objected to on principle points out that it would be preferable to allow him a fixed salary of Rs. 1170 a month for the first year of the operation of the new Act & Rs. 850 for the second year permitting him at the same time to retain his Commission and leaving him to pay his Establishment the Bombay Government.Requested to carry ourt this arrangement leaving it open to the Government to make a fresh one at the end of the second year explanation has also been called for as to the reason why Rs. 5,21,270 only are about to be transferred to the Public Treasury when from previous correspondence it would appear that Rs. 6,11,711 were availabe .
