Regarding the information of the Lieutenant- Governor, that the Board of Revenue at Calcutta have submitted direct to this Department a copy of their letter No. 1542, dated the 21st of August last, together with separate Minutes by Messrs. Grote and Schalch, the Senior and Junior Members, and certain annexed correspondence, the whole forming a reply to the animadversions of the late Famine Commissioners on the conduct of the Board in regard to the late Famine in Orissa.
