From Secretary to the Governor General - His Lordship has directed that the practice of enclosing in the Public Covers letters passing between members of the Calcutta Offices & those attached to the Governor General to the Commander in Chief Head Quarters to be discontinued from 1st August. A Memorial of which is enclosed. The Servants attached to the Camp having petitioned to be allowed the privilege of receiving & sending one free letter per Mensem. The grant of which indulgence is left to the Vice President in Council.
