From Board - In obedience to orders of 18th November last. Enlcose a Set of Quarantine Rules and submit the expediency of these Papers being placed in the hands of the Advocate General with a view to the preparation of a Regulation in strict consonance of the Orders of the King in Council of 19th July 1825 and that in the mean time opinion and the Medical Board also now concur that Diamond Harbour is the fittest site for all the purposes of Quarantine - Propose that the Ernand on her return from China remain at Diamond Harbour as a Floating Hospital & 5 Row Boats with their Crews, that the allowance to Captain Cowles as Quarantine Master be 100 Rs. per mensem & 25 Rs. to his Assistant with a similar sum for every Vessel subject to Quarantine and half that amount when no Cargo is landed for Airing etc that Captain Cowles and his Assistant be remunerated at the rates for their Services during the last season, & that the total amount on account of Quarantine fixed Establishment be Rs. 104
