Board - Acknowledge orders of the 23rd March last with an extract Judicial Department submit an estimate of the expence of constructing a Boat to carry a 24 Pounder carronade for the purpose of Scutling Ships when on Fire in the port of Calcutta Doubt the propriety of sinking Vessels in the # proposed reasons are of opinion that proper Engines placed in Boats as on the River thomes would be more advesable plan and state that it is the duty of the Insurance Compances to provide the means of extinguishing Fire on Ships etc.
