Finance andd Commerce Department forwards copy of letter to the Government of Bengal pointing out, with reference to the liability of the some canals to assessment for the purposes of the cesses leviable under Bengal Act IX of 1880, that the Lieutement Government has power to exempt the some canals from the Operation of the Act.
