Representation from the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and other public bodies regarding the sale by the Secretary of State of Council drafts during the present season at low rates. Desirability of fixing a minimum rate for sale of the drafts and of publicly announcing it urged by the Government of India. Secretary of States enquiry about the cause of the present large imports of silver to India and reply thereto. Suggestions by Mr. J.G. Scott, of Bangalore, that an import duty should be levied on silver.
