Classification of casual labour and their periodic rest. Rly infomed tht the causal labourers fall within the defination of Rly servants as defined in the Indian Rly Act, 1890 and as such the hours of employment regulations are applicable to them. Their classification should follow the category in which they are employed. It is however, clarifed that wheras they will be elligible to the periodic rest as admissible under the ;Regulations, they will not be entitled to wages for the day of rest. These orders take effect form the date of issue and have the sanction of the President.
