Proposal that the Courts in the Civil and Military Station of Bangalore be empowerd to recognise previous convictions by Courts in British India and by Courts of the Mysore State, when assessing punishment, negatived. Abandonment of the proposal to undertake legislation to enable the Courts in British India to recognise, for the purpose of Section 54 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, and section 75 of the Indian Penal Code, previous Convictions by Courts of Native States specially selected and notified by the Governor-General in Council.
