Draft rules for the encouragement of the study of Oriental languages among officers of the Indian Educational Service. Proposal to assimilate the rewards for the High Proficiency and Degree of Honour tests in Burmese to those granted for the same standards in other vernacular languages. Institution of an examination by the High Proficiency standard in Assamese as an alternative to Bengali for members of the Indian Civil Service and the Indian Educational Service serving in Assam.
