With refer. to a letter of the 15th March last, to teh address of the Adjtt. genl. of the Army, requesting information as to the charge for straw for h.Ms. 40 Regt. exceeding that of other corps for Dec. 1843 transmits the annexer form the officer commanding certain regt. of h.Ms. service to the question under reply. states teh commander in chief opinion thereon.
